Planning to attend a seminar or workshop in Bali? Understanding visa requirements is crucial to ensure a smooth arrival and hassle-free participation. As the event organizer Bali relies on for seamless planning, ESA has gathered the key visa information you need.
Visa Exemption for ASEAN and Select Non-ASEAN Participants
If you hold a passport from an ASEAN country, you’re in luck! All ASEAN nationals can enter Indonesia with a free Visa Exemption upon arrival for up to 30 days. This visa allows you to participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences, as well as enjoy tourism activities. However, this visa cannot be extended or converted and is only available upon arrival at the airport. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of entry.
In addition to ASEAN countries, Indonesia also grants Visa Exemption to several non-ASEAN nations, including Hong Kong, Macau, Morocco, Timor Lesta and Chile.
Visa on Arrival & e-VOA for Non-Exempt Participants
For participants from non-exempt countries, visa requirements vary based on nationality. Citizens from most European countries, Australia, the UAE, and several others can obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA) upon entering Indonesia. The VOA allows a stay of up to 30 days and is extendable once for an additional 30 days. The fee for the VOA is 500,000 IDR. This visa permits attendance at seminars, workshops, and conferences.
Alternatively, eligible travelers can apply for an Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) before departure to avoid airport queues. The e-VOA offers the same benefits as the regular VOA and can be obtained through the official immigration website.
C10 Visa for Speakers
If you are invited as a speaker, you must obtain a C10 visa, which is required for those presenting at professional events. This visa can be obtained online through the Indonesian Immigration e-Visa system. As the event organizer Bali trusts for handling event logistics, we can assist in providing the necessary invitation letter. However, speakers must submit:
A copy of the ID page of their passport
A recent passport-sized photograph
Three months’ worth of bank statements showing a minimum balance of USD 2,000
Proof of accommodation in Indonesia
The C10 visa processing time typically takes 5 to 10 business days. For specific costs and further assistance, please contact ESA directly.
General Passport Requirements
Regardless of the visa type, all participants, speakers, and attendees must ensure their passport is valid for at least six months beyond their planned departure date.
